When you stand up to reject Satan and follow Christ, expect opposition. But don't be afraid. Jesus has already won, and He has given us everything we need to stand firm.

Stand firm, not afraid

Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.James 4:7
Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.1 John 4:4

Daily prayers for protection

The Lord's Prayer

Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

Matthew 6:9–13

Psalm 91

He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.

Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day. For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.

Psalm 91:1–2, 5, 11

Psalm 23

The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

Psalm 23:1–4

Christ be with me

Christ with me, Christ before me, Christ behind me, Christ in me, Christ beneath me, Christ above me, Christ on my right, Christ on my left, Christ when I lie down, Christ when I sit down, Christ when I arise.

From "St. Patrick's Breastplate," an ancient Christian prayer

Put on the whole armor of God

Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.Ephesians 6:11–12

A morning prayer

Lord Jesus, as I begin this day I put on Your armor.

I put on the belt of truth: keep me honest and clear-minded. I put on the breastplate of righteousness: guard my heart. I put on shoes of the gospel of peace: send me wherever You want me to go. I take up the shield of faith to quench every fiery dart of the enemy. I put on the helmet of salvation: guard my thoughts. And I take up the sword of the Spirit, Your Word.

I reject Satan and all his works. I belong to You. Amen.

Based on Ephesians 6:13–17

Covering your family

Your stand for Christ affects your whole household. Pray over them every day.

Heavenly Father, I place my family in Your hands: my spouse, my children, and everyone who lives in this home. Cover us with the precious blood of Jesus. Guard our minds, our hearts, our bodies and our relationships. Keep every evil far from us, and send Your angels to watch over us wherever we go. Let our home be a place where Jesus is Lord. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

A blessing to pray over your family

The LORD bless thee, and keep thee: The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.

Numbers 6:24–26

Stay strong: daily habits

Stay in the Word

Read Scripture every day, even a few verses. It is the sword of the Spirit.

Stay in church

Worship every Sunday and stay close to your pastor and your church family.

Don't stand alone

Pray with others. Find one or two believers who will pray for you and check in on you.

Keep a clean heart

Confess your sins quickly, forgive quickly, and close every door the enemy could use.

If you're struggling, don't carry it alone. Talk with your pastor or a trusted church leader right away. And if you ever feel unsafe or in crisis, call or text 988 or reach out to local emergency services.
